Plebeian VC is an upcoming podcast looking to interview future founders in the deeptech field. We speak to recent graduates (less than 5 years since graduation) looking to build physical solutions. If you're interested drop me a message on LinkedIn .
Hello, my name is Alessio and I'm a recent graduate from the University of Bristol (MSc Aerial Robotics) and Loughborough University (BEng Robotics, Mechatronics and Control Engineering). I've been obsessed with drones for over a decade now, it has shaped the trajectory of my career so far.
On this journey I have been involved with entrepreneurial activities, serving on committees at university, taking part in accelerators and applying for funds. Trying to build robots and drones along the way. I have found that this is quite expensive, people in other deeptech fields have this problem too!
(in ancient Rome) a commoner.
of or belonging to the commoners of ancient Rome.
Having applied to accelerators and competitions there seems to be a common trend. The majority of acceptances go to alunmi of the top universities, those with networks and those that already have money for a prototype. Theres minimal support for those pre-prototype and the support that top universities offer is unmatched outside of those networks. I wanted to have a VC for the plebeian, the common person.
